Josef Grunger was an officer whom the Emperor appointed a Grand Admiral at New Year Fête Week two years before the Battle of Yavin. He is well known for his double-crossing and backstabbing techniques, which have earned him several powerful enemies. The Grand Admiral's missions have mainly concentrated around the Outer Rim in his flagship, the HIMS Rawl. The Star Destroyer's name is said to fit the Grand Admiral's personality - a rawl is a type of snake found on Naboo.
