Awards of the Galactic Empire

These are the awards & medals that the Galactic Empire currently awards to its officers. They are separated on this page into four categories: General, Military, Campaign, and Tour of Duty. General Awards are those that can be awarded to both Military and Government (and in some cases, civilian) personnel. Military Awards, however, are typically restricted to military personnel. Campaign Ribbons are awarded to individuals who participate in a successful military campaign. Tour of Duty Medals are awarded periodically for an individual's continued Imperial service.

The Awards & Medals are also arranged by prestige, with the most prestigious award in that category being near the top and then descending (not to imply that even the least of awards is not an impressive accomplishment!).

Please note: only officers of O7+ may make awards. However, the majority of awards should be given out by Sector Moffs, branch Chiefs of Staff, and the Military CO. However CO's that are O7+ can award their direct subordinates some awards -- if this is you, you should clear any awards through your branch CO or Sector Moff first, however, if possible.

Awards & Medals Formatting

Awards may be displayed below your Identification Card, but only in a proper format.

The format is: [General Awards from most prestigious to least prestigious][Military awards from most to least prestigious][Tour of Duty Medal (if applicable)][Campaign Ribbon(s)]

Thus the most prestigious award is always shown first (with the exception of Tour of Duty Medals and Campaign Ribbons, which always come last due to their special format), and General Awards come before Military Awards. An example of a decorated officer's medal line would be:

WILL/IMS/MSRx5/IMV/CARx2/MoV/Yavin/Hoth
or
[WILL][IMS][MSRx5][IMV][CARx2][Yavin][Hoth][MoV4]

This shows that Darth Vader has been awarded the Emperor's Will, Imperial Medallion of Service, five Meritorus Service Ribbons, an Imperial Medal of Valor, and two Combat Action Ribbons. He has been awarded the Medal of Victory for over twelve years of service, ,Campaign Ribbons for conducting successful military campaigns in the Yavin and Hoth systems, as well as a Medal of Victory tour of duty ribbon with four complete clusters for well over twelve years of Imperial service.
