What Is The Imperial Throne
The Imperial Throne is the supreme seat of authority in the Galactic Empire, the ultimate source of all executive power and the embodiment of the New Order. From this position, the Emperor exercises absolute command over the galaxy, issuing decrees that carry the force of law, appointing and removing high officials, directing grand strategy, and safeguarding the principles of merit, loyalty, and efficiency. The Throne is the final arbiter in matters of policy, security, and governance. All branches of the Imperial Government, from the Ruling Council, the Imperial Senate, the Judicial Branch, Territorial Administration, to the Ministries, derive their legitimacy from the Throne and serve at the Emperor’s pleasure. In times of crisis, the Throne may assume direct control of military forces, override lower decisions, or intervene to preserve the unity and strength of the Empire.
Located in the Imperial Palace on Coruscant, also known as the Imperial Executive Building, the throne room is a monument to order and resolve. It is the center from which Emperor Tanos ensures the Empire’s vision reaches every world and every citizen, guiding the New Order toward lasting stability and prosperity.
Emperor Draco Tanos
Emperor Draco Tanos is the sovereign ruler of the Galactic Empire and the founder of the New Order. Born on the world of Jaminere in the Tion Cluster, he grew up in a region of ancient tradition and strategic importance. When he was finally old enough to leave his homeworld, he joined the closest thing the Galactic Republic had to a military: The Judicial Forces.
As a young commander in the Republic Judicial Forces, Tanos served during the Stark Hyperspace War, where his vessel was destroyed. Leading most of his crew to safety through decisive action and calm under fire, he earned early recognition as a hero of the Republic. The Clone Wars further tested his resolve. Transitioning to naval command, he participated in key campaigns in the Mid Rim and Expansion Region, coordinating fleet actions, securing hyperspace lanes, and disrupting Separatist operations. These experiences exposed the Republic’s inefficiencies, such as bureaucratic delays, corruption, and inability to act decisively, reinforcing his belief that only unified, merit-based leadership could prevent future chaos.
From these foundations, Tanos rose to become the Emperor, establishing a government built on the lessons of his past: merit and loyalty above all, swift authority, and a commitment to a stable, prosperous galaxy.
The Emperor's Sigil
The Tanos Starburst (also known as the Imperial Starburst) is the personal sigil and heraldic emblem of Emperor Draco Tanos, Supreme Ruler of the Galactic Empire. It serves as the ultimate symbol of his authority, the New Order, and the unbroken unity of the Empire under his reign.
The Tanos Starburst is a stylized radial burst of sixteen sharp, symmetrical rays emanating from the center, encircled by a silver ring. The rays are often rendered in metallic silver against a field of deep black, evoking both the brilliance of a supernova and the disciplined precision of Imperial order. The sixteen rays represent the sixteen foundational principles of the New Order (merit, loyalty, efficiency, justice, unity, reconstruction, security, prosperity, discipline, resolve, vigilance, continuity, strength, wisdom, sacrifice, and destiny), with the center symbolizing the absolute authority of the Throne, the heart from which all Imperial light and power emanate.
The silver ring signifies unbreakable continuity: the seamless transition from the Republic's ideals to the perfected Empire, with Emperor Tanos as the living link between past glory and future stability. The stark black-and-silver palette reflects the Emperor's personal philosophy: clarity, resolve, and unyielding purpose without ornamentation or excess.
