Biographical Record

raco Tanos is the founding Emperor of the Galactic Empire and the first sovereign invested under the New Order. Born on Jaminere in the Tion Cluster, he entered public service through the Republic Judicial Forces and spent virtually all of his adult life in military or governmental service.

During the Stark Hyperspace War, Tanos distinguished himself after the destruction of his vessel, leading most of his surviving crew to safety through calm judgment and decisive action. He later transitioned to naval command and served through major campaigns in the Mid Rim and Expansion Region. His experience in war, administration, and command shaped his belief that peace could not be preserved by institutions that possessed responsibility without the authority to act.

Tanos did not regard the Republic as inherently wicked. He considered it worthy of loyalty, but increasingly incapable of governing effectively under the strain of corruption, paralysis, sectional division, and war. His later service during the Clone Wars reinforced his conviction that constitutional government required strength, discipline, continuity, and accountable executive leadership.

As Emperor, Tanos delegates widely but remains closely informed. He attends meetings of the Ruling Council when on Coruscant, receives strategic and ministerial briefings, personally reviews matters of exceptional importance, and intervenes where he believes the direction of government requires correction. His conduct of diplomacy follows the same pattern. Routine negotiations are entrusted to the Ministry of Diplomacy, but the Emperor may appear personally at a decisive stage to conclude an agreement, alter the balance of a negotiation, or demonstrate the gravity with which the Empire regards the matter.
