Description
Inherited from Republic service, the Galleon provides straightforward strategic lift without the expense and complexity of a commissioned warship. Its holds accommodate two Army regiments with their field equipment or an equivalent bulk cargo load. A class-two hyperdrive permits independent interstellar movement, while light shielding protects the vessel against navigational hazards and incidental fire. Galleons travel under naval escort in contested regions and continue to serve secondary routes alongside their armed Star Galleon successors.
