Description
High-output sublight engines and atmospheric capability allow the IR-3F to move quickly between orbital facilities, navigation points, and planetary approaches. Four turreted turbolasers provide unusually strong coverage for a vessel of its size, while shields and a compact crew permit economical operation in lightly populated systems. The standard craft lacks a hyperdrive and therefore works from a planetary base, station, carrier, or assigned system. Naval and Customs commands use the IR-3F for traffic interception, customs patrol, local escort, and the pursuit of smugglers or pirates.
