TIE Heavy

The Heavy Bomber retains the standard command pod, solar collectors, and short-range operating doctrine of the TIE/sa while enlarging its ordnance section and strengthening the supporting frame. Twin laser cannon permit limited self-defense and strafing, while two bomb chutes and paired launchers deliver proton bombs, concussion missiles, proton torpedoes, mines, or mission-specific munitions. Additional armor protects the ordnance cells, but the increased mass reduces acceleration and maneuverability. Heavy Bomber flights therefore operate with fighter escort and concentrate upon hardened positions, ships, and battlefield infrastructure.
