Description
The reinforced command pod carries a pilot and weapons officer between enlarged radiator panels and high-output twin ion engines. The pilot controls flight and the standard laser armament while the weapons officer operates the heavy cannon assembly, manages power flow, and maintains fire against targets during high-speed maneuvering. Additional armor and concentrated firepower allow TIE/rb sections to challenge gunships, transports, and hardened positions, although their greater mass requires fighter support against more agile interceptors.
