Description
The spherical armored mount houses a heavy ion accelerator, elevation machinery, targeting systems, and protected firing controls. Its charged bolts disrupt power, sensors, weapons, and propulsion without relying upon hull penetration. The installation requires extensive foundations and a major power supply, and it is commonly concealed or protected by shields until an orbital target enters the firing solution. A successful strike can open a launch corridor, interrupt bombardment, or leave a vessel vulnerable to interception.
