The Venator-class Star Destroyer was one of the principal Republic capital ships of the Clone Wars and continued into Imperial service. Its large flight deck and extensive hangar capacity make it particularly effective as a fleet carrier, while its heavy weapons, troop accommodations, command facilities, and endurance allow it to serve as a versatile line warship and independent task-force flagship.
