Description
The Carrack-class light cruiser combines unusually heavy armament, excellent speed, and high survivability in a compact 350-metre hull. Although traditionally designated a light cruiser, its physical dimensions place it within the frigate range under the Anaxes system. Its performance and weapons fit nevertheless allow it to undertake many missions normally assigned to larger cruisers.

The Carrack-A replaces the parent frigate’s defensive laser battery with ion cannon for disabling and capture operations.
Ten heavy turbolasers provide the principal striking battery, twenty ion cannon suppress shields and systems, and five tractor-beam projectors secure disabled vessels. The configuration retains the Carrack hull, engines, compartmentalized protection, external fighter rack, and fleet endurance.
