Imperial Edicts are binding instruments issued by the Emperor in exercise of the sovereign authority vested in the Imperial Throne. They possess the force of Imperial law within the scope declared by their terms and remain distinct from Acts of the Empire and Imperial Proclamations.
Authority and Effect
An Edict speaks with the direct authority of the Emperor and does not proceed through the Imperial Senate or require a separate grant of Imperial Assent. Every Edict derives its validity from the Imperial Charter and must be interpreted consistently with it. An Edict remains in force until its stated expiration or until amended, superseded, or revoked by the Emperor or a lawful successor to the Throne.
