Ranks & Structure

The Imperial Order maintains a clear rank structure that reflects both mastery of the Force and standing within the Order. Unlike the old Jedi Order, which concentrated most of its strength on Coruscant, the Imperial Order is widely distributed across the galaxy through a network of regional headquarters and local facilities.

Ranks

Grandmaster – Overall leader of the Imperial Order.

High Master – Senior masters who hold major positions of authority within the Order.

Senior Master – Experienced masters who often lead Commanderies or serve on the supporting Councils.

Master – Fully trained masters of the Force.

Knight Commander – Senior Knights who lead teams or hold command responsibilities in the field.

Senior Knight – Experienced Knights.

Knight – Fully trained members of the Order, commonly referred to as Imperial Knights.

Apprentice – Students undergoing individualized training under a Master or Knight.

Initiate – The youngest and newest members of the Order, still in early communal training.

Organizational Structure

The Imperial Order is led by the Grandmaster and governed by the High Council of twelve. The Master of the Order oversees the more combat-oriented and field-deployed members of the Order.

Supporting the High Council are the traditional Councils of First Knowledge, Reconciliation, and Reassignment. The Council of Reassignment continues to oversee the Service Corps, which includes the Agricultural, Medical, Educational, and Exploration Corps.

Commanderies and Enclaves

The Imperial Order maintains a Commandery in each of the twenty Priority Oversectors. These Commanderies serve as the regional headquarters of the Order and coordinate all Imperial Order activity within their Oversector.

Under each Commandery are multiple Enclaves. Enclaves serve as local facilities for training, operations, and administration. Some Enclaves are dedicated primarily to the training of Initiates and Apprentices, while others function as operational bases for Knights assigned to that region.

Paths

Members of the Imperial Order commonly follow one of three traditional paths that shape how they serve. These paths are specializations rather than ranks.

Guardian

Guardians focus on combat, physical discipline, and the direct protection of the Empire and its citizens. They train extensively with the lightsaber and often serve in roles that place them on the front lines or in high-risk environments. Guardians commonly wield blue lightsabers, though this is tradition rather than requirement.

Weapon Masters specialize in exotic or non-traditional weapons alongside the lightsaber. They train extensively with unusual armaments and often serve as instructors in advanced combat techniques that go beyond standard lightsaber forms.

Lightsaber Instructors dedicate themselves to the study and teaching of lightsaber combat. They train Initiates, Apprentices, and fully fledged Knights in the various forms, refining both technique and philosophy of the blade.

Aces focus on starfighter combat. They combine their Force abilities with exceptional piloting skill, making them highly effective in space superiority roles and often serving alongside conventional starfighter forces.

Peacekeepers specialize in maintaining order in civilian environments. They work closely with local security forces and planetary governments, using both combat skill and presence to prevent conflict and enforce stability.

Sentinel

Sentinels seek balance between combat skill and practical knowledge. They are versatile operators who often work independently or in small teams, combining Force ability with technical, investigative, or covert skills. Sentinels commonly wield yellow lightsabers, though this is tradition rather than requirement.

Shadows are among the most secretive members of the Order. They specialize in hunting down dark side users, forbidden artifacts, and other threats that operate in secrecy. Their work is often covert and highly dangerous.

Investigators focus on uncovering hidden threats, solving complex crimes, and gathering intelligence. They blend Force abilities with practical investigative skills and often work independently or with limited support.

Watchmen are assigned to specific sectors or regions of the galaxy. They monitor their assigned areas for signs of trouble, act as the Order’s local presence, and serve as a bridge between the Order and the people of that region.

Temple Guards are the elite protectors of the Order’s most important facilities. They wear distinctive masks and robes, set aside personal identity while on duty, and are charged with the absolute defense of sacred and strategic locations.

Artisans focus on craftsmanship through the Force. They create lightsabers, refine tools, and produce objects of both practical and symbolic value, blending technical skill with Force sensitivity.

Recruiters travel the galaxy identifying Force-sensitive individuals and bringing them into the Order. They require strong interpersonal skills, discretion, and the ability to carefully evaluate potential candidates.

Consular

Consulars emphasize mastery of the Force, diplomacy, knowledge, and non-combat applications of their abilities. They often serve as advisors, diplomats, healers, and scholars. Consulars commonly wield green lightsabers, though this is tradition rather than requirement.

Healers specialize in the medical applications of the Force. They treat injuries and illnesses that conventional medicine cannot easily address and often serve in both battlefield and civilian medical roles.

Lore Keepers dedicate themselves to the study of the Force, history, and ancient knowledge. They maintain archives, study holocrons, and preserve the intellectual traditions of the Order.

Diplomats represent the Order and the Empire in negotiations and political matters. They rely more on persuasion, insight, and the Force than on combat.

Seers focus on visions, prophecy, and deeper connection to the Force. They attempt to interpret the will of the Force and provide guidance based on what they perceive, though such abilities remain unpredictable.
