The Imperial Grand Armies

Army troopers The Grand Armies are the elite assault formations personally commanded by the Grand Generals of the Imperial Army. These highly mobile and heavily reinforced armies serve as the Emperor's chosen strike forces, capable of conducting decisive planetary assaults and rapid response operations across the galaxy.

Role and Doctrine

Grand Armies are designed for high-intensity offensive operations. They specialize in breaking through enemy defenses, securing landing zones, and establishing strongholds on hostile worlds. While they frequently cooperate with Grand Admirals of the Imperial Navy for space superiority, they are fully capable of operating independently when necessary.

Composition

Each Grand Army is commanded by one of the Grand Generals. Their exact size and composition is flexible, but they are typically larger and more capable than standard Armies. They make heavy use of Acclamator-class assault ships and corps transports for planetary landings, supported by the same Ground Support Wings used by other Army elements (primarily TIE/sk experimental air superiority fighters). They draw the best units from across the Imperial Army, including elite divisions, special forces, and heavy armored elements.

Status

The Grand Armies represent the pinnacle of Imperial ground power. Their ability to land and sustain major forces under fire makes them essential for the most critical campaigns of the New Order.
