SAGRecreation provides the Sub-Adult Group's athletic, artistic, outdoor, and social programs. Its purpose is to develop health, teamwork, confidence, and fellowship among young citizens from widely different communities.
Competition is intended to test skill and character, not to reward cruelty or reckless endurance. Medical screening, qualified supervision, equipment standards, emergency planning, and fair rules are required. Hazing, coerced participation, and punitive physical training are prohibited.
The branch works with families, schools, health authorities, parks, cultural bodies, and local sporting associations. Military facilities or instructors may support appropriate activities, but recreation is not disguised basic training.
Large events allow members to encounter peers beyond their own world and learn the habits of cooperation upon which a galactic civilization depends. Achievement is honored, but participation, improvement, and service remain equally important.
